Youth Mental Health Corps Information Session

When:  Apr 21, 2026 from 12:30 PM to 01:30 PM (ET)
The Maryland Youth Mental Health Corps places AmeriCorps-style service members with community behavioral health organizations on a nine-month term. Host organizations receive a $20,000 state grant per member (with a simplified cost share), retain full hiring authority, and get to define what the work looks like based on your own needs.
Service members can fill a range of roles, but one track likely to resonate with many of you is the certified peer recovery specialist pathway.  Participants can complete their supervised hours and training within a single service term, giving host organizations a credentialed peer support specialist ready to hire at the end of nine months.
Danny Bicknell, Director of the Maryland Department of Service and Civic Innovation, will host an information session for CBH members on April 21st from 12:30-1:30pm to walk through the program, answer your questions, and help you figure out if this is a fit for your organization.
